Police Investigating Robbery at Bank Branch Inside Vernon Supermarket
The incident was late Thursday morning.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police are investigating a Thursday robbery at the People's United Bank Branch inside the Pitkin Road Stop & Shop.
A police sergeant said the initial call came in at 10:50 a.m.
A witness said information at the scene was confusing and it ranged from an elderly man being robbed shortly after withdrawing money to an incident at a bank window.

The thief apparently fled on foot, the witness said.
Police said it appeared no weapon was shown or implied.
