Police Looking For Assault Suspect In Vernon

A heavy police presence was in the Rockville section of Vernon Tuesday following an assault.

VERNON, CT — There was a heavy police presence along Union Street in the Rockville section of Vernon Tuesday afternoon as part of an assault investigation.

Several Vernon and state police cruisers were lining the road near the intersection of Union Street and Oak Street at abut 1:30 p.m. A canine unit was also deployed.

A Vernon police spokesman said officers and troopers were looking for an "adult male" suspect who had fled the scene in an unknown direction.
