Popular Vernon Children's Bookstore To Close

VERNON, CT — A popular children's bookstore on Route 30 In Vernon is closing.

Customers of Jack and Allie'sa Childrens Bookstore, located at 520 Hartford Turnpike (Route 30) in Vernon, recently received emails announcing that the store is closing. A staffer confirmed the shuttering plans on Monday.

The staffer said the store's five-year lease is up and said the owners were ready to move on the new adventures.

The staffer classified the store's tenure as "a good five years."

Jack and Allies sold children's books, games, activity kits and trinkets. The store also hosted literature-themed children's parties.

The staffer said the closing is tergeted for the end of May, when the lease expires, but a final day has not been posted.
