AARP recently presented me with their 2013 Legislative Achievement Award for my work to preserve consumer protections for utility customers and my opposition to a proposed tax on home heating oil (the proposal died in committee). I received the award from AARP Connecticut Associate State Director John Erlinghauser and Lead Advocacy Volunteer Bob Rodman at a special ceremony recently in the State Capitol complex in Hartford.
I am very honored to receive this prestigious award. Fighting for affordable utility rates is something that impacts us all and is especially important to seniors and families.
