Pumpkin Carving Contest

How can you show off your pumpkin carving talents?  Bring your carved pumpkin to the Strong Family Farm’s October 19, 2013 “Harvest Festival” and have it displayed for all to see.   There will also be a judging with several categories and ribbons to the winners.

Bring you pumpkin in the morning to the festival which will run from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Strong Family Farm on 274 West Street in Vernon.  The pumpkin judging will take place at 1:00 p.m.  While you are there take advantage all of the other activities including: pumpkin sales, pumpkin painting, hourly tours of the farm, announcement of results of the farm’s 2nd annual scarecrow contest, apple sales,  animals, vendors, music, activities for children and a farewell to the farm’s chickens (from its successful, summer adopt-a-chicken program).  The chickens will become laying hens at another local farm.

Food will be offered for sale, including snacks, homemade donuts and apple cider.
