Economic Development Coordinator Shaun Gately said that the property was sold last month to Wei Wu Guo and that Guo plans on opening a Chinese restaruant.
The property is currently being cleaned up to make way for the new restaurant.

He said Wendy's did not consider the parcel. Mayor Jason McCoy said over the summer that the chain was looking for a location in town. Gately said fast food chains generally would not look that far up Routes 83 and 74.
The Big Tang property is located at 176 Union St., just to the Rockville side of the Route 74 and 83 intersection. The Chinese restaurant closed abruptly about 11 months ago.
For about two weeks, workers have been sprucing up the inside of the building. Last week, the facade was stripped to potentially make way for a new sign.
Gately said the parking lot is next on the work list, and added the property would be ready for its new tenant soon.
Gately had no news on the adjacent former Rockville Friendly's building.
