Reynolds Named Vernon Police Officer of the Year

The award was given out at a ceremony on Wednesday.

VERNON, CT — Officer Kerry Reynolds, a 16-year-veteran of the Vernon police force known for her public demeanor just as much as being a versatile cop, has been named the officer of the year.

The award was given out at a ceremony on Wednesday.

Reynolds is known for her pleasant demeanor and has served as a crisis intervention officer for some time. She works closely with the town's at-risk population.

She is a field training officer and an adviser to the Vernon Police Explorers Post.

Reynolds is also an avid participant in the department efforts to raise funds for the Connecticut Special Olympics and attended every event to benefit the organization. As a whole the VPD raised $12,900 over the past year.
