RHS Job Shadow Program Under Way

Three days will be dedicated to shadowing.

The Career Center at Rockville High School is hosting three different job shadow days this year.

During a job shadow, students observe the work activities associated with the chosen profession, interact with an expert in the field, and when possible, perform tasks related to the given career field.

On Dec. 6, students participated in the business, arts and media job shadow. Professionals who hosted students at their places of employment included Phil Mann, Silk City Music Factory; Lee Boulanger and Katrina Schaedel; Bombardier, Meghan West, CNC Software, Inc.; Rick Risley, First Investors; Mark Dixon, WFSB, Jon Bartolotta, YMCA, Keith Barry, Manchester High School Band Teacher, Eric Lynch, Pue, Chick Leibowitz & Blezard.

Twenty students participated in the event.

“Job shadowing is a good way to learn first hand about what it would really be like to work in a specific field”, said student Caitlyn Landry.
