Rockville Farmers' Market Extended Through October

The market runs every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Courthouse Plaza parking lot.

The mums have arrived at the Rockville Downtown Association Farmers' Market.

So have the asters.

There is acorn squash, butternut squash, pumpkins and apples.

And there is still corn.

So with the late-season staples in abundance, and customers continuing to head to the Courthouse Plaza on Thursdays, the Farmers' Market has been extended through October.

Originally slated to end on Labor Day, the Farmers' Market was extended through September and now another month. Along with the new items, Shitake mushrooms, pumpkins and gourds, fresh bread and pastries are being offered.

The market runs every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Courthouse Plaza on West Main Street in Rockville.

"The market is one of the new jewels of downtown Rockville," said RDA Vice President Dan Waskiewicz. "To keep the market successful though we need to have folks stop by and support our farmers and vendors. So mark your schedules for each Thursday and join us in buying fresh and buying local."

So far, the most popular items have been corn and swiss chard and the fresh bread from La Brioche.
