An old tradition has been brought back to Vernon at Rockville High School football games.

VERNON, CT — A an old tradition has been brought back to Rockville High School football games — the ringing of the bell.

It was a prominent feature at Friday's 48-7 Ram win at home against Gilbert-Northwestern.

RHS had a long history of ringing a bell after winning a game. According to Ram Booster Club officials, the bell was removed from the stadium and relocated to the Vernon Historical Society. It currently sits on the society's front lawn.

The new bell is an antique, 26-inch cast iron locomotive bell, painted in the team's colors. It is mounted on a cart and sits on the sidelines at home games.
