VERNON, CT — A jury in Rockville Superior Court Wednesday delivered a guilty verdict in the sexual assault trial of a 55-year-old Stafford man in cases that involved Stafford and Vernon arrests.

Tolland State's Attorney Matthew C. Gedansky said that the jury found Daren Yeo, 55, of Stafford, guilty on all counts in a trial that included separate, but related, cases. The jury found Yeo guilty of two counts of first-degree sexual assault, seven counts of risk of injury to a minor, and two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, he said.

Gedansky said that evidence from the four-day trial detailed Yeo sexually assaulting three minors over a period of time. Each of the victims testified before the jury and described what Gedansky termed "sexual abuse" by Yeo when they were younger.

He is scheduled for sentencing before Superior Court Judge Corrine Klatt on Feb. 15, 2022.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Assistant State's Attorney Alison Kubas. Yeo was represented by Attorney Erin Field.

Police records show that Yeo had a Stafford address when he was arrested by state police in 2019 for incidents that took place from 1997 to 2009. In four warrants, he was charged with two counts each of first-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree sexual assault, and 10 counts of risk of injury to a minor, according to police records.

Vernon police arrested him in August 2020 on first- and fourth-degree sexual assault charges, according to an arrest report.

Yeo had been free on bonds totaling $380,000, according to case records.
