Rockville Wreck Snarls Traffic Downtown
Vernon police and firefighters close parts of Union Street after sedan plows into small truck during rush hour.
VERNON, CT — Motorists had a messy rush hour in Rockville as a sedan appeared to rear-end a small delivery truck, prompting authorities to close a portion of Union Street Monday evening.
Between 5 and 5:30 p.m., traffic was detoured around the accident, which took place near Union Street's intersection with Orchard Street, not far from Rockville General Hospital.
At the scene, Vernon police and Vernon Fire Department firefighters tended to the crash scene, with a badly-damaged sedan being towed away, with severe front damage visible.

While the road was closed, traffic appeared to go smoothly as the section of Rockville features several side streets, allowing motorists to dodge the scene while the cleanup continued.
