VERNON, CT — A recrational vehicle dropped a drive shaft in the middle of a hilly stretch of Interstate-84 and a second vehicle crashed into it, state police said.

State police released the details of the April 26 crash on Monday.

It took place at 2:01 p.m. A 2000 Newmar RV was heading east near Exit 67 in the center lane when the drive shaft fell, state police said. A 1999 Lincoln Town Car then hit it, went "out of control" and slammed into a guardrail off the right shoulder, according to a report.
