Scuffle At Vernon Business Leads To Charges Against Hartford Cop

A Hartford police officer has been put on leave after her arrest at a Vernon entertainment center.

VERNON, CT — A 28-year-old woman arrested Tuesday after an altercation at a Vernon bowling and entertainment center has been identified as a Hartford police officer.

Authorities confirmed that Shameal Samuels is a Hartford cop and Fox61 is reporting that she has been placed on leave.

An arrest report classified the disturbance as domestic in nature. Vernon police received a call at 7:42 p.m. about a disturbance at Spare Time, 350 Talcottville Road.

Samuels was subsequently arrested and charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault. She was the only one charged in connection with the scuffle, police said.
