Search For Missing Woman Canceled By Vernon Police [UPDATED]

VERNON, CT — Vernon police announced a 50-year-old woman who had been reported missing was found safely.

Police canceled the Silver Alert for Doreen Starkweather at 4:59 p.m. Monday.

VERNON, CT — Vernon Police are still searching for a woman whose belongings were found along the local Rails-to-Trails system late last week.

A Silver Alert for 50-year-old Doreen Starkweather was issued Friday and on Monday, police said the search was still active. She could be homeless, police said.

Starkweather is being described as a white female, 5-foot-2 and 150 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes, police said.

No clothing description or photo was included in the Silver Alert. Police described the belongings located as "personal" items.
