'Serious Crash' Closes Section of I-84 In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — What state police termed to be a "major accident" closed a section of Interstate 84 in Tolland Tuesday afternoon.

The crash took place at 2:08 p.m. on the Westbound side of the highway near the Exit 69 interchange, state Department of Transportation officials said.

DOT officials said one vehicle was involved.

Tolland Fire Department officials said that the vehicle sustained "heavy damage" and two ambulances had been requested. Life Star helicopter was en route at 2:30 p.m., fire officials said. CPR was being administrated to at least one person, fire officials said.

The highway was closed between Exit 69 and Exit 70, officials said.
