Six-Figure Bond Posted In Vernon Fatal Hit-And-Run Case
A man charged in a Vernon fatal hit-and-run crash has posted a high bond in the case.

VERNON, CT — The Somers man charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle in relation to a fatal hit-and-run crash in Vernon posted a $100,000 surety bond in the case, a clerk at Rockville Superior Court said.
Vernon police said Philip Holmes, 41, was taken into custody Tuesday.
The misconduct charged was moved to the Part A docket, according t0 the clerk. Part A is reserved for the most serious criminal cases.

In addition, Holmes, a Somers resident, was charged with evading responsibility causing death, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is slated to return to court on April 30.

Holmes is accused of hitting 44-year-old Vernon resident Andrew Aggarwala Nov. 24 as he walked his dog on Phoenix Street. Aggarwala was found by a neighbor and subsequently pronounced at the scene.
