Skinner Road Setting the Pace for International Walk to School Day
International Walk to School Day set for Wednesday.
Wednesday is International Walk to School Day and it has become a part of the lifestyle over at Skinner Road School.
With wide sidewalks and clearly marked crosswalks and a relatively flat route, Skinner Road is ideal for walkers. About a third of the school population's population of nearly 400 students are classified as walkers.
On Wednesday, Skinner Road is inviting all students to walk and bussed students - with parental permission - will be dropped off about a half-mile away from school and will walk together.
The school also sponsors bi-monthly "Walk to School Days." Students gather at Dart Hill Road and Lawlor Drive or Skinner Road and John Drive at 8:10 a.m.
