Snow Days Causing Schedule Shuffling At Schools In Vernon
This winter's weather has come with a calendar cost for public schools in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — With five snow days in the books, Vernon's June 2026 academic calendar has been pushed forward a week.
Superintendent of Schools Joseph Macary said that, as of Friday, the final day of school for high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors, along with middle and elementary school students, is now June 19, Macary said.
At Rockville High School, underclass final exams are now the week of June 15, Macary said.

It's the same schedule for graduating seniors at RHS, however. The school board does not like to change a date that families and students have scheduled out for the better part of a year, so commencement stays at June 11.
Another factor, Macary said, is the project graduation after-party, which is locked in and essentially impossible to reschedule.

Exams for the senior class will be conducted accordingly.
June 19 will be a half-day for the rest of the students, Macary said.
