Special Voter Registration Session Scheduled In Vernon

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Registrars of Voters have announced that they will be conducting a special voter registration session on Friday, July 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. at their office, Room 117, Center 375 on Route 30 in Vernon.

All voters, regardless of the party with which they wish to affiliate, are encouraged to attend the session on the 26th and register to vote.

Those wishing to register with the Republican Party are especially encouraged to attend as there will be a Republican U.S. Senate primary on Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the town's regular polling places. Only registered Republicans may vote in the primary.

The Registrars also noted that “Early Voting” will be held for the Republican primary on August 5th through the 11th in Room 118 of Center 375. Again, under state law, only registered Republicans will be allowed to vote.

Early Voting will be available from 10 am to 6 pm each day, except on August 6 and 8, when voting will be allowed from 8 am to 8 pm.
