Stabbing Suspect Last Seen in Vernon

A car belonging to a man wanted for a Massachusetts stabbing was found in Vernon, but he is still on the loose.

VERNON, CT — A man wanted for a stabbing in a Boston suburb is on the loose and his car was found near a Vernon apartment complex, police in Waltham, MA, said Thursday.

Ping Hong, 32, was last seen at the Vernon Garden apartment complex in a black sport utility vehicle, said Sgt. Timothy King of the Waltham Police Department's detective division. Hong's car, a gray 2012 Subaru Legacy four-door sedan, was recovered in Vernon near the complex, King said.

Hong is 5-foot-10 with brown eyes and a medium build, King said. Waltham police released a mug shot of him.

Hong is wanted for the stabbing of his girlfriend’s mother on Howard Street in Waltham, King said.

The woman suffered serious injuries from several stab wounds and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, King said.

In addition to Vernon, Hong has connections to Flushing, NY, and is also known to frequent the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, King said.

King said Hong should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if spotted.
