State Police Investigating Fatal Weekend Crash In Vernon

VERNON, CT — State police are investigating a weekend accident that took the life of a motorist.

The crash took place at 5:48 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 84 near Exit 67, state police said.

According to a crash report, a 2014 Honda Ridgeline light pickup truck being driven by a 54-year-old Mt. Temper, NY, man, was headed west on the center lane of the highway. It was sideswiped from the left by a 2009 Nissan Altima registered out of Georgia being driven by a 27-year-old man for whom no address was listed on a crash report, records show.

The Nissan then rolled over and its driver was killed, state police said.

The crash remained under investigation Tuesday and state police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed it contact Trooper Stefanie Gurski at the Troop C Barracks, 860-896-3200.
