Stats Show Improved Seat Belt Compliance In Vernon

Seat belt use in Vernon has improved, according to statistics from the national Click-It or Ticket campaign.

VERNON, CT — Seat belt use in Vernon has imporved by 8 percent, according to statistics from the national Click-It or Ticket campaign.

Vernon police took part in the May 20 Border-to-Border seat belt enforcement efforts, the kickoff for the annual Click It or Ticket high-visibility enforcement campaign, from May 20 through June 2.

Vernon Police officers wrote a total of 35 citations for seat belt violations during the B2B event. That's 8.5 percent increase in seat belt compliance from the previous year, police said.

The B2B event was a one-day national seat belt awareness event coordinated by participating state highway safety offices and their respective law enforcement liaisons.
