Store Theft Thwarted In Vernon
A man was caught trying to circumvent store security at a plaza in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — An organized retail theft operation was thwarted at a store in Vernon during the height of the holiday shopping period.
Police released a report on the incident this week.
According to an arrest report, at 5:02 p.m. on Dec. 19, Vernon officers arrived at the TJ Maxx store at the Tri-City Plaza after a man wearing a black hat, a black jacket and jeans was caught removing store security sensors from coats.

The man, a 61-year-old Bloomfield resident, was taken into custody and charged with possession of a shoplifting device and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny. He is due in Rockville Superior Court on Jan. 9, records show.
