Student Drop-Off Pattern Changing At Rockville High School
After three days of snarled traffic, the morning drop-off pattern is changing at Rockville High School.

VERNON, CT — Traffic patterns for student morning drop-offs will be changing next week at Rockville High School. RHS Principal Jason Magao said he made the decision after witnessing heavy backups during the first three days of school.
Beginning Sept. 7, all buses will be dropping off students near the ASTE building, where cars have been dropping off students.
All families dropping off students in private vehicles will, starting Tuesday, enter the main driveway in front of the school building, drive around the building to the right to the first traffic circle near the gym entrance and back to the front to drop students off. School officials are asking parents to not drop students off on the way into the driveway because it is" too dangerous for them to cross in front of moving cars."

"Our hope is that we can fit many more vehicles this way and get you on your way much faster," Magao said.
Students generally have to be in the building by 7:30 a.m.

Magao said the school will not change the way it handles busses in the afternoon because it is safest to pick up bus students in the front of the school.
