Lisa Mueller, a junior at Rockville High School, recently took first place in the 2012 Drexel University high school national playwriting contest for her play, "Happy as a Clam."
She will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
Senior Chelsea McDonnell won the third-place prize and will receive
a $1,000 scholarship.
Seniors Alyssa Holmes and Brianna Matava as well as juniors Rachel Nutt and Nicole Timbrel earned honorable mention designations for their plays.
