Students Suffer Minor Injuries as School Bus is Rear-Ended in Vernon
The students were taken to area hospitals, police said.

VERNON, CT – Three elementary school students suffered what appeared to be minor injuries when a bus from Skinner Road School was rear-ended by a pickup truck on Union Street near West Street, police said.
The crash took place at 3:35 p.m., Vernon police spokesman Lt. William Meier said. The scene was cleared in less than an hour and students were taken back to Skinner Road School, where parents were picking them up, Meier said.
Meier said three students on the full bus complained of what seemed to be minor injuries that warranted taking them in ambulances. One was taken to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford and two others to Rockville General Hospital, both to be evaluated, he said.
