SUV Ends Up In The Drink After Too Many Drinks: Vernon Police
A vehicle took a wrong turn into a river near a restaurant in Vernon over the weekend.

VERNON, CT — A sport utility vehicle crashed into the Hockanum River early Sunday morning in what Vernon police are calling a drunken driving incident.
The crash took place at about 1:30 a.m. at 57 Hartford Turnpike near the Rocking Horse restaurant, police said.
Fire officials said crews located the SUV about 10 feet down a "mild slope" with the hood of the vehicle partially submerged in the river.

The two occupants of the SUV managed to get themselves out and one of them was transported to an area hospital for evaluation, according to fire officials.
Police said the driver was charged with driving under the influence.
