Talent Highlights the RHS Softball Lineup

The Rams lost just one player to graduation.

Frank Levick has certainly put together quite a run as coach of the Rockville High School softball team.

In his three years at the helm of the Rams' ship, Rockville has compiled a 34-7 record, including a 16-4 mark last spring.

This season?

Well, just one letter winner was lost to graduation.

Leading the group of returnees is captain Elissa Graf. Very little seemed to get past her at the plate with a .538 batting average and a better than .900 fielding percentage from her post at third base.

On the mound, Levick said junior Kaitlyn Lajoie could be one of the top pitchers in the state this year and junior Courtney Oliva will add control when she takes the ball.

Chrissy Pettingill and Megan Gardner, both juniors will share the catching duties and play the outfield, Levick said. Jackie Ose and Michelle Correia, both sophomores, will play first and second base, respectively.

One hole the Rams had to fill was at shortstop, where Brianna Levick started for four years. Sophomore Emily Burg will move there from the outfield and start.

Juniors Laura Skoly and Lauren Silver will play both infield and outfield positions.

Freshman Morgan Skoly will add speed to the lineup, Frank Levick said.

The Rams open the season Wednesday at Bristol Eastern.
