$11,000 Worth Of Cocaine Seized In Vernon Bust: Police

VERNON, CT — Police nabbed drugs, a powerful gun and money in a warrant arrest Friday in Vernon.

Last month, the East Central Narcotics Task Force received a tip about a cocaine dealer operating in the Rockville section of Vernon. The dealer was identified as Kevin Williams, a 42-year-old convicted felon who goes by the name "T," according to a report.

Police said they determined Williams was conducting narcotics sales out of a residence at 50 West St. and they secured multiple search and seizure warrants for the home, according to a report.

On Friday, ECNTF members observed Williams operating his vehicle on West Street and, as Williams pulled into the driveway of 50 West St., officers converged on his vehicle.

Williams' 7-year-old daughter was a passenger in the vehicle, police said.

Police found a "large amount" of powder cocaine both in the vehicle and hidden in Williams' underwear, according to a report. In all, the drugs weighed in at approximately 4 ounces and are worth more than $11,000 in terms of street sales, a report indicates.

Police also found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun with a pistol grip, cash and other drug paraphernalia. Two vehicles were also seized as part.

The residence is near the Maple Street School.

Williams was processed at Vernon Police Department and charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of narcotics with the intent to sell
  • Possession of more than an ounce of cocaine with the intent to sell
  • Operation of a drug factory
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school
  • Possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a School
  • Possession with the intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school
  • Criminal possession of a firearm
  • Risk of injury to a child

Williams posted a $350,000 surety bond and is slated to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Sept. 1.
