Task Force Seizes Psychedelics, Pills, Paraphernalia And Pot During Operation Near Vernon-Ellington Line

VERNON, CT — A regional drug task force seized a sizable stash during an operation last week on Orchard Street, an arrest report shows.

Vernon police, who made the arrest, released a report on the July 23 arrest Thursday.

According to an arrest report, at about 9 a.m. that day, the East Central Narcotics Task Force, along with Vernon Police, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and state police, conducted an operation related to an "ongoing narcotics investigation" involving 28-year-oldPresley Alexander Taylor near his Ellington residence close to the Vernon line.

He was spotted in Vernon heading home, according to an arrest report.

A search of the Orchard Street home led to the confiscation of 81-plus kilograms of marijuana flower, 1,002 THC vapes, 74 "fraudulent" prescription pills containing methamphetamine, 332 grams of Psilopsycibin mushrooms, $11,175 in U.S. currency and "a variety of marijuana-related paraphernalia," according to an arrest report.

Authorities said Taylor was subsequently charged with the use of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hallucinogen with the intent to sell, possession with intent to sell 1 kilogram or more of cannabis, possession of a controlled substance (2 counts), possession of a cannabis plant, operating a drug factory, and the illegal manufacture, distribution, sale, prescription, or possession with intent to sell a non-narcotic.

He was released on a $750,000 bond and has a court date of Aug. 4, according to an arrest report.
