Teen Fugitive Caught, Woman Arrested For Drugs In Vernon Incident

Vernon police chased down a teen wanted by the court system and arrested a woman on drug charges in the same incident.

VERNON, CT — What began as police catching up with a 17-year-old wanted by the court system turned out to be a drug arrest for a 48-year-old woman whose car the boy fled from, police said.

The incident took place at 3:48 p.m. on Wednesday, police said. The teen had re-arrest warrants issued for him for skipping out on court dates and an officer spotted him in a car pulling into a driveway on Brooklyn Street, police said.

The boy saw the officer, abandoned the car, and ran off, police said.
