Thanksgiving Changing Vernon Trash/Recycling Collection Schedule
The Thanksgiving trash schedule has been posted in Vernon.
VERNON, CT — The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29, for the 2024 Thanksgiving holiday.
Trash and recycling normally collected on Thursday will be collected a day early — on Wednesday Nov. 27 — along with that day's normal route.
Trash and recycling normally collected on Friday will be collected the following Monday — Dec. 2 — along with that day’'s regular route.

If delays occur, residents should please leave you carts at the curb.
Excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station at 12 Hockanum Boulevard free of charge (permit and punchcards would not be required) year-round. Normal hours of operation are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
