The Mulch Pile - A Recycling Project at the Vernon DPW
Mulch is available for residents.

Ever wonder where all that brush goes?
The old Christmas trees?
Psst ...
Just look at the Transfer Station and the mulch pile.
The Department of Public Works is making that mulch available to residents.
If available, a 4-cubic-yard load of mulch will be delivered to driveways for $60, DPW Director Robert Kleinhans said on Friday. The locations designated for delivery need to be clearly marked by the resident, he said.
Anyone interested should call the DPW office at 860-870-3500 to schedule a delivery.
Mulch will continue to be available at the Transfer Station to Vernon residents free of charge. A permit and punch card are not required to obtain mulch, DPW officials said.
The Transfer Station is located on Hockanum Boulevard and is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays noon to 4 p.m.
