Third-Party Shopper Caught Sneaking Extra Items Into Cart: Vernon PD
A third-party grocery service contractor is facing a larceny charge out of Vernon.

VERNON, CT — A contractor for a third-party grocery shopping service was caught trying to sneak personal items added to the "cart" at a Vernon store, police said.
The incident took place at 6 p.m. on May 18, police said.
A request for an officer came in from ShopRite saying that store security had detained a 44-year-old Canton man who was working for Instacart.

He added extra items to the Instacart application tab totaling $68.24, warranting a sixth-degree larceny charge, police said.
He is due in court on May 28.
