Tolland Seeking Head Lifeguard for 2026 Summer Camp, Applications Open

TOLLAND, CT — The Tolland Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the Head Lifeguard position for the 2026 Summer Camp Season. The role spans seven weeks, from late June to early August.

The starting rate for the Head Lifeguard is $22.00 per hour. The position is approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with hours generally scheduled between 11 AM and 3 PM. The Head Lifeguard is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the town’s waterfront facility. This includes supervising and scheduling lifeguard staff to ensure full coverage during all hours of operation.

Responsibilities also include enforcing all waterfront rules and safety regulations. The Head Lifeguard maintains positive communication with patrons and staff, ensuring that all procedures adhere to Town policies and American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, and AED standards. This individual serves as the on-site lead and communicates regularly with the Recreation Coordinator and Director of Recreation regarding any waterfront concerns. The position helps ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons attending the summer camp.
