Top Vernon Runners at 79th Manchester Road Race

The 79th running of the Thanksgiving Day Manchester Road Race drew more than 13,000 athletes from around the country and nearly every town in Connecticut.

Five Vernon runners had the distinction of placing in the top 10 of their respective divisions:

• Haley Hasty, F1418 - 2nd
• Brian Nelson, M3039 - 3rd
• Bob Dacey, M6569 - 6th
• Jay Seney, M5559 - 7th
• Jim Golden, M6569 - 10th

The top five overall finishers from Vernon were:

1. Brian Nelson, age 35 (46th)
2. Zachary Hess, age 18 (298th)
3. Jake Cichon, age 17 (352nd)
4. Haley Hasty, age 18 (395th)
5. Jay Seney, age 55 (406th)
