Tornado Warning Delays Vernon School Buses Friday Afternoon

VERNON, CT — A tornado warning delayed school buses at some schools in Vernon Friday afternoon.

Buses that normally begin departing after 2:45 p.m. dismissal were stranded while the warning was in effect.

They began rolling again at 3:10 p.m. when the warning was lifted, school system officials said.

The National Weather Service had issued a tornado warning at 3 p.m.
