Traffic Patterns To Change During Vernon Winterfest

VERNON, CT — Traffic patterns in the Rockville section of Vernon will be altered for Friday's annual Winterfest celebration.

The town of Vernon's Winterfest event is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. The event includes a fire truck parade.

During the event, the center of Rockville will be closed to traffic, police said. The road closure will be from West Main Street at Union Street to East Main Street at Court Street. All traffic will be detoured around the center using Vernon Avenue, Brooklyn Street and Court Street, police said.

The closure will be in effect until approximately 9 p.m.

In addition, during the brief parade, traffic on Grove Street will be detoured onto Laurel Street to Cedar Street to Brooklyn Street, police said. The road will be re-opened immediately following the event.
