Traffic Violation Turns into Drug Charges for Vernon Man
He had drugs in his car, police said.

VERNON, CT — A ticket for an illegal right turn on red turned into drug charges and a $10,000 bond for a Vernon man over the weekend.
At 10:21 p.m. on Saturday, an officer noticed a driver make an illegal turn on red at a busy intersection — Union and West streets, according to a police report.
The driver was identified as 26-year-old Christopher Dunbar of 100 West St. He was pulled over and police found two bags of marijuana and a crack cocaine rock inside the car, according to a report.

In addition to the charge for an illegal turn, he was charged with narcotics possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and the use of the paraphernalia, police said.
He posted a $10,000 bond and was given a court date of March 7, police said.
