Trash Truck Gets Tangled In Wires Near Church In Vernon

VERNON, CT — A trash truck became tangled in electrical wires early Monday morning in Vernon.

The incident took place at 4:51 a.m. on East Street near the Church of the Nazarene property at No. 47, police said.

Utility crews were at the scene well past 9 a.m.

The truck, owned by Windsor Sanitation, was making an early private property pickup and its top caught a set of wires on East Street, police said. The wires then fell onto the truck, police said.

No injuries were reported, but traffic was tied up through the morning commute. Northeast School is just down the road from the scene.
