Truck Fire Breaks Out On Highway In Vernon

VERNON, CT — A truck became engulfed in flames and smoke along a stretch of Interstate 84 in Vernon Thursday.

Fire officials said the incident took place at 10:20 a.m. on I-84 Eastbound between exits 65 and 66. Crews arrived on scene to find a utility truck with heavy fire in the engine compartment that had spread to the cab, fire officials said.

The fire was knocked down quickly after firefighters deployed a hose line, officials said.

No injuries were reported.
