Truck Gets Caught In Wires On Street In Vernon
Power was out for some time in an area of Vernon after a truck drove into some wires.

VERNON, CT — A commercial truck wound up in a tangled web of wires after a traffic mishap in Vernon early Monday afternoon.
According to Vernon police, at 12:13 p.m., a tractor and small trailer unit became stuck in some electrical wires on Valerie Drive. The truck then pulled the wires and damaged two poles in the process, police said.
The driver was not injured in the crash.

Vernon police, firefighters and Eversource responded to the scene.
Eversource reported 20 homes without power and was still repairing the poles and trying to restore electricity power to the area into the early evening.

Police said Valerie Drive was to be closed until the repairs were completed.
