VERNON, CT — A drive-through Trunk or Treat event is on tap for Henry Park in Vernon this week.

The park on Thursday will be transformed into a family friendly and fun Halloween fright fest for Vernon children who "dare" to show u, town officials said. A haunted school bus has fond its way to the park and and a touch of Sleepy Hollow — a horse with a glowing mane and a headless rider wandering among the pine trees have also been spotted.

The free drive-through event is scheduled for 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

"Last year’s Trunk or Treat was a huge success and children and adults alike said they loved it," Vernon Mayor Daniel
Champagne said. "We decided to go it again this year to give Vernon children a special and memorable event.”

Hundreds of cars filled with eager trick or treaters came through Henry Park last year for the event, organized by the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department.
