VERNON, CT — The beach area at Valley Falls Park will be open for Swimming Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The beach was closed last weekend after testing revealed higher levels of bacteria in the water due to runoff from heavy rains.

Testing this week has determined that the problem is resolved, town officials said.

The swimming schedule at Valley Falls is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Newhoca Beach: Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
