Vehicle Crashes Into Reservoir In Vernon Saturday
The driver was pulled from the chilly water, police said.

VERNON, CT — A vehicle plunged into the Risley Reservoir in Vernon Saturday.
The initial call came in at 11:55 a.m., police said.
The vehicle was traveling on Lake Street, just before the Lydall Street intersection, and suddenly veered off the pavement and careened down a hill for roughly 300 feet before crashing into the water, police said.

The driver was out of the vehicle but in the chilly water when responders arrived and was pulled to safety, police said. The condition of the driver was not known by late afternoon, police said.
The crash is still under investigation.
