VERNON, CT — A woman walking into a business in Vernon Thursday was hit by a vehicle, which then struck a building, police said.

The incident took place at 1:03 p.m. at 5 Gerber Boulevard.

Vernon police said a woman had driven her vehicle over a curb and struck a woman walking into the business at 5 Gerber Boulevard. After striking the pedestrian, the vehicle smashed into the building, police said.

The building had minor structural damage, police said.

Vernon EMS fire crews responded to the scene to provide medical treatment and pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries, according to an incident report.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the crash, police said.
