Vehicles Stolen From Repair Shops In Vernon

Vernon police are investigating a series of vehicle thefts from local repair shops.

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Police Department is investigating burglaries at two local repair shops, where nine vehicles were stolen over a two-week period in August.

In both incidents, the keys to the vehicles were taken from inside the buildings, police said.

The first incident occurred Aug. 9, when four vehicles were stolen from Shea's Garage at 118 Grove St. Since the incident, two of the vehicles have been recovered, police said.

The second set of thefts took place over two days — Aug. 23 and 24 — when five vehicles were stolen from Farm Car Care, 11 Windermere Ave., police said. Since the incident three of those vehicles have been recovered, they added.

The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is urged to call Vernon police at 860-872-9126.
