Update: Vernon First Niagara Bank Robbed, Police Seek Suspect
The First Niagara bank on Hartford Turnpike was robbed after 9 a.m. today, according to police.

Vernon police are hoping that the public can help them identify a suspect in Monday mornings bank robbery at First Niagara on the Hartford Turnpike.
The incident was reported to police around 9 a.m., said Detective James Grady.
A lone male approximately 5-feet-10-inches tall wearing a baseball hat, a sweatshirt and jacket entered the bank and demanded money from the teller, Grady said.

The suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. He fled on Route 30 toward the vacant former Bennigan’s Restaurant property. Vernon and Manchester police searched the area, but had no luck.
Anyone who has information about the crime or saw the suspect fleeing is asked to call police at 860-872-9126. Calls can be made anonymously.
