Our town is facing state budget cuts and our leadership needs to stay focused on maintaining the high level of services for our town and residents. I intend to look for efficiencies to make sure our we are effectively spending tax dollars.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates
seeking this post?
One of the biggest differences is that I have successfully served our community for 10 years. Our team has worked together to move Vernon in a positive direction.
List other issues that define your campaign platform: I have worked to be fiscally responsible with our tax dollars while still providing a high level of service for our residents.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I am very proud that I have been part of a team that has repaved over 90% of our town's roads, opened a new senior center, and changed out our street lights to more efficient LED for a cost savings. We are upgrading the sewer treatment plant; working to purchase land for soccer and lacrosse fields; working to partner with UCONN to bring a performing arts center to Downtown Rockville, and also bringing a dog park and many more accomplishments all with a no local property tax increase.
The best advice ever shared with me was ...
My mother always told me to work hard and always be an active member of your community.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your
positions?
I love living and raising my family in Vernon. Over 20 years ago I chose Vernon to be my home because of its diversity and its history. I am proud to serve the people of Vernon. I ask for your vote on November 5th to continue the progress our team has made.
